VIC'S GOLDEN GAME - GAME REVIEW
--------------------------------
Rodland - £25.99 - Storm
On the game cover it states 'This games is so cute it'll make you
puke', if this doesn't put you off, you will not be put off at
all.
The game lives up to its statement, as being cute.
Rodlands, is about, a fairy village, where something is amiss,
the chubby, chummy, yummy, inhabitants of the village have been
possessed by an evil force, that was only stopped by our dearest
Mom, she has been kidnapped (of course), so what you have to do
is rescue Mom and save the village. Got it???
Tam and Rit, the sprogs of the aforementioned Mom, are very
p***ed off after finding out that their mother has been
kidnapped, so off they trapse to the Elder to grab his magic
Rainbow shoes and a Sheesanomo. Now they are able to blast away
at those little furry but nasty creatures.
These creatures participate in many a different form, rabbits to
boomerang throwing starfish to sharks. All you have to do is to
use your Rod to sort of pick them up shall we say, pick ups give
you bonus points, sticks of dyamite and other goodies.
Tam and Rit can also summon floating ladders that appear in mid-
air so to speak, enabling them to climb unaccessable platforms.
You can participate in a one or two player game, where in a two
player game you can birst your mates balloons (oo-er sounds a bit
erm oo-erish sort of...)
This conversion of the popular arcade game is better than the
original, as it has nice graphics and superb gameplay.
Sound is in STEREO, where the appropriate sound comes from the
left or right speaker, or both, depending where you are on the
screen.
There are 40 plus levels to contend with , each being cuter than
the other until you have finally had enough cutness to last you a
lifetime, but ignoring this fact, this is the best game I've
reviewed in this issue.
